Embrace of Darkness

This piece is part of the art project "Mythology of Emotion", which explores archetypal and allegorical images of love, fear, temptation, and acceptance. The painting depicts a demon—an embodiment of danger and primal desire—and a woman whose expression reveals not fear, but deep calm and perhaps trust. They embrace in a space of stark contrast: behind them, cold blue stained glass windows; before them, a golden, fiery darkness—another world entirely.

The scene may symbolize the acceptance of one’s “shadow”—the darker side of the self that, according to Carl Jung, is essential for wholeness.
